     This is a normal eyelash next to a very fine eyelash as viewed in the Own Eye Magnifier lens. I've used the ergonomic tweezers to grasp the fine lashes. The precision tips are clearly visible. 

These tiny, fine eyelashes are typical of the ingrown eyelashes that have to be removed. The ingrown eyelash can be dark and thick or very fine and white, both types cause extreme irritation and if not removed can be damaging to the eye. (Margaret)

• The Own Eye Magnifier was designed for me by my Husband, Roy Righini who used to watch me struggle to remove fine eyelashes which I could not see. It was a hard ask... I wanted to see my own eyes clearly WITHOUT my glasses on, as they got in the way, and my vision was getting worse, but the eyelashes were increasing. So the Own Eye Magnifier was developed out of my growing desperation and great need to see those fine white ingrowing eyelashes.

    I now use my Own Eye Magnifier almost every day to remove my ingrown eyelashes, it is brilliant and I can't manage without it! I have, for many years had chronic trichiasis ...ingrowing eyelashes, getting progressively worse with age. Not being able to see anything at all without my glasses as I can't focus clearly, the magnifying makeup mirrors available on the market were useless to me as they were not powerful enough. One problem which was frustrating was that with my glasses on (so that I could see), I found  my glasses were obstructing access to my eyes. It was impossible to get behind my glasses so that I could remove my troublesome eyelashes. Getting in to see a Specialist was often a long process and I needed the offending eyelashes out right away, as it was painful! Sore eyes are always a problem for me, as I also have blepharitis, allergy eyes and dry eyes....lots of common eye problems.

   During the development stage another problem became apparent which was not being able to see clearly due to insufficient lighting so Roy had to develop special lighting which was bright and very safe.  

I love the "across  the eyes" lighting that Roy developed, which means I can now see all areas of my eyes WITHOUT WEARING MY GLASSES.  If I don't remove my troublesome lashes they will damage my eyes permanently, so my Husband's invention has really saved my eyes. What a wonderful thing it is to be able to take off my glasses and yet be able to see my eyes in such detail! Even tiny white eyelashes are clearly visible now. Best part is I can remove those troublesome eyelashes anytime and anywhere, day or night. 

             Such a useful product should be in EVERYONE'S medicine cabinet! We didn't realise that it would have so many applications and NOT ONLY for people with poor vision.

Hi Margaret,

 This is from someone who has struggled with just one pesky eyelash for more than 10 years, & spent countless amounts of money visiting doctors –both GPs and specialists (only to be told that cryo and permanent scarring is the only solution). I had  electrolysis performed  by an Eye Specialist but unfortunately the eyelash grew back. He has moved from the area and there is no-one else around in the Southern Highlands who is equipped or prepared to do electrolysis. .

 I am so amazed and delighted with the simplicity and effectiveness of your product.  It did not take long at all to get used to using it – in the first hour I was able to naturally adjust my focus and see clearly for the very first time!

  I cannot describe the inconvenience of having to take time off work, go to a doctor, pay the money and have the damned thing plucked out time and time again, then waiting for the next occurrence.  What  a bugger this one eyelash has become!

 I am sure there are countless others out there with the same problem but it isn’t regarded as a big deal by the medical profession.  I think they see it as an inevitable sign of ageing but I am not so sure.  I was only about 47 when an obliging optometrist plucked it out for me and told me to come in anytime because he has lots of ‘old dears’ who come in to have theirs removed!  

  My husband who is a woodworker had a sore and very red eye for weeks before he eventually went to an optometrist; then found out he had an ingrown lash!  Obviously we thought it was wood dust. Another use for the Magnifier.

The ‘beauty’ market with professional make up sites should know about this product, as women who care about their appearance and buy skin care and make-up products could also be potential customers – for perfect application and for lash problems they never thought there was an alternative solution to??  

 Those useless flip up and down specs designed for the poor sighted to apply eye make up have been out there for a long time.  I bought a pair once and could not see a thing. They are cheap and they don’t work because one has to be mono-focal to use them.

I really hope you both get this out there because it is a wonderful product and so simple.

• I had a strange feeling in my eye, which felt like an insect. I could not see anything when I removed my glasses because of my poor vision nor was my shaving mirror strong enough to help me see the problem. I had heard of Own Eye Magnifier on the local radio station. I got in touch with the manufacturer. • Having been an habitual hard contact-lens user for many years, I found surprising difficulty in inserting soft contact lenses, when recently I had to switch to their use. Before, I had a terrible time in front of a mirror with artificial light and my glasses packed  out with a folded up tissue and perched on my nose. • I saw the magnifier on ABC New Inventors and ordered one immediately. I am thrilled that I can again pluck my eyebrows. Because I had to wear my glasses to see my eyebrows, it was impossible to pluck them any more. I looked like Mrs Robert Menzies. • Just received the ergonomic tweezers, they are just brilliant. I pulled out, first go, a problem eyelash that used to take days of trial and error. They're a joy to use and have a super grip, whereas most tweezers just don't grab onto anything very fine. 

  This is an excellent product.

         Now to my "Own Eye" Magnifier, how I survived before I'll never know! 

This is another absolutely brilliant product!

         I honestly didn't know I had so many ingrowing eyelashes and  do you know my eyes aren't nearly as sore as they used to be.

  I have no idea how it compares with the other models of Own Eye Magnifier, but for me, with vision in only one eye, this model 3 seems perfect. I can see details in my blind eye that were never visible to me before!

It’s great, I can see my eyes. I haven’t seen them for ages.

  Have I really been walking around with those eyebrows like that? Oh well, not anymore!

I am very pleased with my Own Eye Magnifier.  After seeing the device on The New Inventors I immediately decided to buy one. My vision has been deteriorating for some time now. 

One of the most frustrating aspects of this, was being unable to apply eye make-up. I couldn’t do it with my glasses on and I couldn’t do it with my glasses off!  

Now I can see my eyes clearly. Even more clearly than with my glasses on! It is fantastic. 

No more smudges and blotches for me. I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend the Own Eye Magnifier to anyone who is considering purchasing one.

I find the Eye Magnifier brilliant and so far have not had the need to use it for any

 other purpose except for my "backward growing" eyelashes in the corner of my eyes.

                                            I cannot tell you at this stage of Mums usage though I must confess that I used it twice and loved it within the first two days.  

I am a welder and on occasion one in my trade can easily get particles lodged in ones eye from any number of areas, though usually from grinding  {even wearing protective glasses/ visors, bits can bounce off the inside and land in the eye} when a hot particle actually sticks to the eyeball and needs to be rubbed /scraped off.  Yes it can be sore and gets worse quickly with the passing of every hour.

 Normally a trip to the quack.  Lucky for me I thought I'd try your lens.............WOW, Oh so easy to do it myself.  So there you go, another area you can cover.

Dear Margaret,
    I have purchased model No. 2 Long Focus. I use it to remove ingrowing eyelashes. I am 47 yo. and suffer from Blepharitis which can lead to eyelash problems.
    I find I can see the lashes amazingly well, which is fantastic.
However I do find that there is not much room to get the fantastic tweezers that I also purchased, in to remove them. Whether this is because I am short-sighted or not I do not know.  **See note below from Roy, if you hold the tweezers in the centre it shortens them by approximately half the length.
 If it were possible to increase this distance between the mirror and the eye without decreasing the magnification then you would have a much better model in my opinion. **See note below from Roy re magnification.

• I received the magnifier and have used it regularly. My problem was ingrowing eyelashes in both eyes. The magnification is ideal for me and serves the purpose wonderfully well. My ophthalmologist has asked me to bring it to show him on my next visit later this month. The only problem I have is the lack of a good, fine pair of tweezers. The Chemist has only cosmetic tweezers which are OK, but not ideal. I intend to ask my Ophthalmologist if he can advise where I can get the right implement.

Suggestions …. If it is possible to get the same magnification and clarity at a greater distance from the magnifier it would make it easier to get the tweezers in. See note below from Roy re distance.

 Apart from that, it is the answer I’ve waited years for!

 I’m delighted, and suspect there are many others who have similar problems.

Thank you so much for your kind words re the Magnifier.

We are asking our lens expert if he can improve the distance (which of course varies with each individuals particular eyesight needs) but the problem is more distance ...less magnification. Even 1/2" longer distance between the eye and magnifier means a great reduction in magnification and clarity, which we don't want to comprise.

Re tweezers, have a look at our website www.owneye.com  we found some Ergonomic tweezers from USA which  work really well. On the left side of the screen on the website, it says "buy tweezers", click there and you will see a photo. They grasp even those fine white eyelashes and because you can hold the centre of  the tweezers (in circle section) it effectively makes them half the length of most tweezers.  Margaret finds they work much better than other types and we have had a lot of positive feedback from our customers.

     Because I have ingrown eyelashes, I can not tell you what a huge difference the own eye magnifying mirror has made to the quality of my life. 

I am enabled, now that I can clearly see the eyelashes when they have just started to grow, to pluck them out well before they begin to scratch the cornea of my eye.
 For years I have suffered because of the problem, which various medical procedures has not addressed with any permanent results, leaving me to either visit my ophthalmologist regularly to have him do what I can now do easily myself in my own home at no cost at all.

 I am forever thankful that I found out about this wonderful invention.

 It is obvious that I most enthusiastically recommend it to anyone, who for whatever reason have the need to see their own eyes in magnification, and   without the encumbrance of wearing their glasses or even the need for appropriate lighting, as the own eye magnifier is self illuminating having adjustable lights on each side.

• I have been using the Own Eye Magnifier 2, and think that is brilliant.

I often have loose eyelashes, etc. floating in the eye; and I painlessly remove them (with the assistance of  the  Own Eye Magnifier  Model 2, thus:

·                                 * Daub a small amount of PolyVisc Lubricating Eye Ointment (available non- prescription, from any chemist) onto a cotton bud.

·                                 * Gaze into the Own Eye Magnifier 2.

·                                * Lightly touch the coated cotton bud onto the floating eyelash, etc.

·                                 * The floating eyelash has now adhered to cotton bud.

·                                 * Withdraw the cotton bud.

                          This works, every time...
